Springtime Coffee Favorites

It's that time of year...

Spring cleaning is in full swing, pollen is in the air, and everything is blooming as winter takes a rest for a few months.

Nothing says springtime to me like a fresh, non-toxic cleaner in an amber spray bottle, a fresh bouquet of flowers on the counter and a tasty tea or iced coffee to smooth out my morning. So here, to brighten your day a little more are some tried and true springtime tea and coffee favorites from my kitchen to yours.


Lavender Honey Iced CoffeeIngredients:

Brewed coffee or espresso

Ice

Local, raw honey

Lavender syrup

Creamer and/or milk of choice

Recipe:Brew your coffee in whatever method you normally choose. After its made, pour your desired creamer or milk in it to cool it off. Then add in a pump of lavender syrup and a tablespoon ( or to your sweetness preference) or raw honey. Pour the coffee over a cup of ice that is 1/2-3/4 of the way filled.


Nutella LatteIngredients:

Brewed coffee or espresso

Ice

Nutella (vegan recipe here)

Creamer and/or milk of choice

Recipe:Brew your coffee in whatever method you normally choose. After its made, mix a spoonful of nutella into it and then pour your desired creamer or milk in it to cool it off.  Pour the coffee over a cup of ice that is 1/2-3/4 of the way filled.


French Press Dirty Chai LatteIngredients:

1/8 cup Espresso (Grounded)

2 Chai tea bags

2 Tablespoon local, raw honey

1/4 teaspoon coconut oil

Ice

2 cups milk of choice

Recipe:Heat your milk over high heat. While the milk is heating, grind your espresso beans and add them to the french press. Tear open the chai tea bags and empty the contents into your french press, along with the honey and coconut oil. When the milk is boiling, take it off the heat and pour it into your french press. Stir the contents well, then add your "lid" and let steep for 5-7 minutes. Press down on your handle. Pour over a cup of ice that is 1/2-3/4 of the way filled. Iced Matcha LatteIngredients:

Green tea matcha powder

Local, raw honey

Ice

Creamer and/or milk of choice

Recipe:Prepare your matcha as directed using half warmed water and half warmed milk of choice. Once well mixed, pour over a cup of ice that is 1/2-3/4 of the way filled. Add a splash more of milk. Drink up!
